Once you’ve taken in the view of Peyre from the opposite bank, climb up to the Briadels plateau, amongst the oaks, boxwoods and farm buildings. The Luzençon hill heralds that of Auriac, a former seigneurial fiefdom overlooking a bend in the Tarn – a river you’ll never lose sight of as you make your way along the route. Take care on the steep, stony path after Briadels.
