16. GR736® from Ambialet to Marsal

Alternating between rugged and peaceful stretches, this walk links two geological features: the Ambialet isthmus and the Saut de Sabo, where the River Tarn flows from the Massif Central into the Aquitaine Basin

A magnificent view of the Ambialet site marks the start of this route, which is not without its share of steep or rutted paths that must be navigated with due care. The route veers away from the River Tarn only to rejoin it once more, as at the Marsal bend, where the chapel of the fresco painter Nicolaï Greschny is nestled.
